Mikołaj z Chrzanowa (ca. 1485 - ca. 1560)

The quality of his musical oeuvre as a whole is difficult to judge as we have only one motet ("Protexisti") that remained until our days, and even this one piece exists only as a transcription for organ. It is included in one out of two tablatures (with the signature "N. Ch.") of the Chapel Royal repertoire. However, this one piece is of high quality and can be taken, together with works by other composers of the same time, as an indicator that Josquin was known and had a major influence on Polish music at that time.
